Abstract
After the year 2013, a major energy reform occurred in Mexico which unlocked the gateway to private investment. The modification had two main purposes: 1) To maximize the value of any activity in the new competitive economic and trade context, and 2) To promote sustainable development. Based on this second objective, the reform will designate a special role to social and environmental impacts associated with energy project infrastructure in communities.
