Overview
The aim of this paper is to examine and situate the status of LNG industry and related regulatory framework in Pakistan. Midstream and downstream regulatory framework is being reformed to enable induction of LNG in a government controlled dedicated gas transmission and distribution companies' (T&Ds) networks. The paper reviews the opportunities that the gas market liberalization including unbundling, Third Party Access (TPA) and capacity allocation may bring-in for the various LNG stakeholders including T&Ds, natural gas producers, LNG suppliers and consumers.
