Recent estimates of major reserves off the coast of Lebanon, Israel and Cyprus have peaked the interest of major international oil companies, with the Lebanese pre-qualification round that opened on 15 February 2013 resulting in 46 pre-qualified companies including 12 companies being qualified to act as an operator.
