Introduction
Israel has been a player in the natural gas arena for more than a decade. Since the start of natural gas consumption in power stations from the offshore Mari B Field in 2004, natural gas has slowly but surely displaced coal, heavy fuel oil and gasoil, bringing it to a position where it currently comprises over 40% of total fuels for power generation during peak consumption.
