Abstract
In situations where an oil or gas field underlies two or more licence areas, it is generally necessary for the parties with interests in the relevant licence areas to co-operate in order to ensure an optimum development of the field as a whole. This co-operation is usually governed by a contract between the parties in the form of a unitisation agreement.
