Summary
Effective March 28, 2005, the Iranian Transactions Regulations were amended by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, United States Department of the Treasury, to clarify that "United States registered brokers or dealers in securities" are authorized "to process certain transfers of funds to or from Iran." These amendments give SEC-registered brokers or dealers, organized or located in the United States, rights that are on par with those that the Regulations have previously granted to United States depository institutions.
