Willett Kempton

Willett Kempton teaches and conducts research on environmental and energy policy, including offshore wind power storage for wind power, and the environmental values and beliefs of citizens. With Jeremy Firestone, he has recently published two articles, one on public perceptions and one on the regulatory framework for offshore wind power. He is the primary innovator of the concept of "vehicle to grid power" (V2G) which uses battery, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles as storage and backup power for intermittent renewable energy. He has authored five books and over 100 scientific papers, including 60 peer-reviewed articles. His current work is focused on ocean energy, especially offshore wind, and V2G.
