João Victor Marques Cardoso is a Researcher at the Center for Energy Studies within Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Energia). With a focus on the energy sector, he specializes in conducting comprehensive studies pertaining to the oil and gas industry, biofuels, and other low-carbon technologies. Over the course of his career, he has also amassed over 8 years of experience in geopolitical analysis and crisis management as an integral member of the Conjuncture Assessment Group at the Brazilian Naval War College. He successfully completed his master's degree in Political Science from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) and earned his bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Institute of Strategic Studies at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), concentrating on international cooperation for development. His body of work includes articles and chapters of books that delve into crucial areas such as climate change, energy transition, energy security, geopolitics of energy, decarbonization policies and more.
