Mr Uche Valentine Obi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (the equivalent of the King's Counsel) and an alumnus of the Harvard Business School is the Managing Partner of Alliance Law Firm with over 30 years of cognate energy law practice experience. He is deeply versatile and remarkably combines commercial advisory with formal training in law and business management. Uche is a notable litigator and arbitrator with vast experience in proceedings conducted under the institutional and ad-hoc Rules of ICC Paris London Court of International Arbitrators, UNCITRAL and London Maritime Arbitrators. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NCIARB) and, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, United Kingdom. He has won several international accolades including being ranked as a Top lawyer by Chamber 500 and, a leading lawyer in the IFLR 1000. He is a prolific writer in different areas of energy law practice. Uche has been a notable contributor to the IMF/World Bank Doing Business Guide Publications. He was the representative of the Law Society of England and Wales that worked under the Emerging Capital Market Task Force Initiative (ECMTI) to facilitate cross-border capital market transactions between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
