Abstract
The Italian scheme of support for electricity generation from photovoltaic plants (PV Plants) emblematically represents the rise and fall of feed-in tariff (FIT) system. The happy parenthesis of the FIT system covered the period of five years (2005-2010). The initial schemes of support were so enthusiastically welcomed by operators to generate a photovoltaic 'boom', as testified by increase of in-service plants from 5,726 in 2005 to current 531,24.
