Abstract
Scientific research reveals that the Bay of Bengal holds a huge quantity of oil and natural gas. Bangladesh is willing to explore this offshore gas reserve to stimulate its economic growth. But the recent activities of its neighboring coastal states, India and Myanmar, in response to its repeated proposal to settle its maritime delimitation disputes equitably, are not showing any positive approach to negotiate their claims with Bangladesh equitably by way of recognizing the special circumstances prevailing in the Bay of Bengal.
